High Torque Planetary Gearboxes
Appiah High Torque Planetary Gearboxes is the best solution for all applications requiring high torque with minimum dimensions, on fixed industrial equipment and heavy self-propelled machines. This planetary solution offers a substantial improvement in terms of space and weight.
The High Torque Planetary Gearboxes series is also available as High Power version, linking the performance of Appiah's planetary technology with the high quality and reliability of another series of right-angle gearboxes: a solution that is more efficient, quieter, more compact and offers a better price / performance ratio compared to traditional gear units.
13 harmonically developed sizes, from 34,000 Nm to 2,500,000 Nm nominal torque.

Industrial Planetary Gearboxes
Complete range of modular design planetary gearboxes for industrial applications. It combines high performance with low cost and compact size, excellent reliability, simple installation and reduced maintenance. Appiah's industrial planetary gearboxes come in a range of sizes to ensure optimum duration and silent running in all sorts of applications.
These in-line or right-angle planetary gearboxes are available in male and female shaft configurations. The male shaft solution (splined or cylindrical) is able to withstand strong radial or axial loads on the output shaft.
Progressive development of sizes from 1,000 Nm to 25,000 Nm nominal torque.
Coaxial versions with up to 4 gear stages for ratios from 1:3 to 1:3000. Right angle versions with up to 4 gear stages for ratios from 1:10 to 1:3000.
Output versions: flanged gearbox with female shaft; shaft mounted with shrink disk or direct coupling; flanged gearbox with male shaft; foot mounted version.

This wide range of Industrial and Mobile Appiah planetary gear units is specifically designed for pinion and slewing ring drives. Successfully employed on tower cranes, shipboard and harbor cranes, wind generators and as steering drive on ship propulsion systems, they can be used in all applications where accurate positioning is called for. These Appiah slewing drives are suitable for the most severe duties in every environment.
The design of the planetary units optimizes torque performance and radial load capacity, in order to give perfect meshing between pinion and ring gear. For accurate adjustment, some versions have eccentric mounting between the pinion axis and the casing axis. Their wide range of ratios enables the selection of motor size and type which best suits the customer's requirements and application.

Mobile Planetary Drives(Track & Wheel)
Appiah planetary track drives are designed for tracked vehicles and earth-moving machines. They have a heavy-duty casing, a short overall length, and great radial and axial load capacity. Our gearboxes are provided with integral multidisc parking brake and have been designed for direct mounting of hydraulic plug-in motors. The careful choice of the materials and design allows our track drives to be used in the most severe environmental working conditions. Appiah planetary track drive units are the perfect solution for crawled undercarriages, drilling, crushing, screening and piling machines.
Appiah planetary wheel drives are designed for self-propelled vehicles with hydraulic or electric motor. They are available in a wide range of ratios, allowing the power system to operate at optimum efficiency. Whatever the type of machine is, up to 2.5 m of tire diameter and 50 tons each wheel, Appiah has a suitable solution to drive it. The versatility of this range of planetary wheel drives is assured by a wide choice of braking systems (drum brakes, disc brakes, negative acting multiple discs parking brake). Thanks to the wide ratio range, there is a solution for any type of transmission and application. The manual declutch system can disengage the gear unit from the motor for emergency towing.

This integrated line of helical and bevel helical gearboxes is made in our plants by the Appiah manufacturing unit Drives. These gear units are produced with state of the art design, material, and manufacturing technologies for maximum power and reliability within a cost-effective package. With the our range of gearboxes, Drives covers the whole spectrum of power transmission solutions for a wide variety of industrial applications: from the environmental and recycling technology to material handling and cranes, from the chemical industry to the cement and steel sector. The our based on a modular system, and ensures high efficiency, reliable operation, flexibility and short delivery times. Many standard options with a great variety of versions guarantee optimal adaptation in almost all areas of mechanical engineering. Fans, cooling coils, external oil coolers, heating rods, torque supports, engine consoles, sub-constructions and operation monitoring systems are available.

This reliable series of Appiah gearboxes, with attached or integrated thrust bearing, can be supplied as bevel or helical gear. The extruder drives of the our series are completely made in our plants. The modular design of this gearbox series is based on our range of helical and bevel helical gearboxes, plus appropriate thrust bearing-parts which are readily available. Mounting position horizontal or vertical, splash lubrication and cooling coil with or without injection lubrication are possible options. This Appiah serie is based on our widespread experience in the plastics & rubber industry, with more than 20,000 drive units being produced in our plants and providing their reliability and performance day by day in extrusion, compounding and injection moulding machines.

Special seals (labyrinth seals or double seals with separate grease-filled chamber) that protect against lubricant leakage and contamination. Output hollow shafts: cylindrical with keyway, cylindrical hollow shaft for shrink disc, and splined shaft. Input versions with adaptors for IEC, NEMA and hydraulic motors, flexible and fluid couplings, clutches and torque limiters. Accessories such as torque arms, shrink discs, backstops and brakes, oil filtering and cooling systems.

Appiah winch drives are the ideal solution for all lifting applications: our planetary gear are especially designed for use as winch drives inside cable drums, available with hydraulic and electric motor adaptor. The our Series have a planetary pre-stage reduction gear on the input side. They feature two close-mounted flanges, one of which is attached to the winch frame and the other of which is fixed to the cable drum, the drive housing therefore acts as the main drum mounting.
